Brian Patrick Flynn is a dad!
The 47-year-old interior designer, known as HGTV’s Dream Home Designer, has welcomed her first child with husband Hollis Smith via surrogate, the couple announced on Instagram on Thursday, April 18th.
Flynn and Smith shared a sweet black-and-white video on Instagram documenting the birth of their daughter Clover.
“Clover’s Story: Part 1,” Flynn wrote in the caption.

The couple, who wed in 2018, shared their baby announcement photos exclusively with PEOPLE in February and opened up about their surrogacy journey.
“Magically, our surrogate Marissa, who lives in the Midwest, just an hour and 20 minutes by plane from us, was exactly the kind of person the couple wanted,” he explained. “She chose us, and it was so magical that it was meant to be. It turned out that she was also a graphic designer. He’s a hard worker, and so is Hollis.”
“This whole story is just magical because she’s completely part of the forever family. So is her husband, and so are her children. They become Uncle Nathan and Aunt Marissa, and she ‘s children essentially become cousins to our children.’
The couple married on an icy outcrop in Antarctica in March 2018 after 12 years of dating. Now that they are parents, the two said they are excited about what’s next.
“We probably wanted to do it at an age closer to 40 or 42, but we’ve both had very tough careers and continued to do it at number one for a long time,” he explained. “But I feel like I’ve got a good handle on them now. We’re focused on being home now and hoping for a life where we’ve actually been together for almost 20 years.” Masu.”
“We’ve traveled to the bottom and the top of the earth, but we’ve never actually been back home,” Flynn said.
“It’s really great to start nesting, get a new pace of life, and have our little ones experience the world with us,” he continued. “I mean, we’re even excited about the end of school.
“Years ago, if you had asked me about school drop-offs or play dates, I would have rolled my eyes, but now I have to wait in line at school to pick up my girlfriend. 5 years.”
