UVA Health today announced a $10,000 donation to Mother of Mercy Free Medical Clinics in Manassas and Woodbridge. The donation is in recognition of the extraordinary contributions of physicians to their communities in commemoration of National Doctors Day, which was held on March 30th. “Our dedicated team of physicians remains committed to serving the patients of Prince William and the surrounding communities,” said Eric Shannon, Chief Operating Officer of Community Health. “This donation is a gift in recognition of the hard work of our physicians in providing quality care to our patients and our continued partnership with Mother of Mercy Free Medical Clinic.”
Catholic Charities Mother of Mercy Free Medical Clinics in Manassas and Woodbridge serve the uninsured and underinsured. Their mission is to provide quality health care to the Prince William County community. The clinic offers a wide range of services including annual physical exams, disease management, sick visits, prenatal care, health and wellness classes, eye exams, and more. All the doctors and nurses working at the clinic donate their time to provide free medical care. The clinic also provides a portal to other integrated services such as counseling, emergency food assistance, and workforce development.

In honor of this year’s National Doctors Day, UVA Health donated a total of $50,000 to various partners across its service area from Charlottesville to Northern Virginia to Culpeper.
