The City of West Hollywood invites area residents to an open house on the Willoughby, Vista/Gardner and Kings Street Design Concept Plans on Tuesday, May 21st at 6pm at Plummer Park.
This meeting will provide detailed information on the street design concept plan, an overview of previous steps, and next steps for the project. The West Hollywood Mobility Project is based on a pedestrian and bicycle mobility plan that advocates for comfortable, safe, healthy, and convenient places to walk and bike within a balanced intermodal transportation network. Masu. The Street Design Concept Plan was recognized as a priority project for the Pedestrian and Bicycle Mobility Plan and the project began in 2019.
The main objective of this project is to strengthen neighborhoods and protect pedestrian and bicyclist safety through strategic street improvements. Comprehensive streetscape initiatives aim to create safer and more accessible routes for walking and cycling while effectively reducing cross-traffic. By transforming Kings Road and Vista/Gardner Street into major connecting corridors, the street design concept plan facilitates seamless connections between residential and commercial areas and east-west routes such as Santa Monica Boulevard and Fountain Avenue. Masu.
The Street Design Concept Plan is the first project phase of the Willoughby, Vista/Gardner and Kings Street Design Capital Improvement Project development. The recent approval of the street design concept plan by the West Hollywood City Council will move the plan forward to the design and engineering phase, where the concept will be developed in more detail. This includes creating and incorporating detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates that serve as the blueprint for project construction. The public is encouraged to consider the design concept plans for Willoughby, Vista/Gardner and Kings Street.
The open house will be held at the Plummer Park Community Center, Rooms 1 and 2, 7377 Santa Monica Blvd. We will provide light snacks. For more information, visit weho.org and engage.weho .org/willoughby.
