Another day, another logo “secret.” This time, parts of the internet went into mass meltdown (myself included) after noticing that the 7-Eleven logo contained lowercase letters that no one noticed. It turns out that the iconic logo has always had a lowercase ‘n’ in it, and it seems like your whole life is a lie.
Some great logos include hidden features that most people never notice, like Amazon’s secret smile or Toblerone’s hidden bear. It’s these little quirks that make them memorable and iconic.

The enlightening news about 7-Eleven was brought to our attention by travel TikTokker @twosometravellers, who posted a video of the logo with the caption, “How old am I today when I realized this about the 7-Eleven logo?” shared. Pointing out the design quirks, the couple wondered, “Was it always small? Was it ever big? What else don’t you notice? What game are they playing? So many questions!!!!” It showed.
It turns out that the origin of the lowercase “n” is simply a matter of taste. The story goes that in the 1960s, the wife of the company’s president thought all caps was too aggressive, and she thought a lowercase “n” might soften the design. I agree, but the grammar geek in me is screaming – I’ll never be able to ignore it.
