Royal Caribbean Cruises has canceled more stops at a popular private resort in Haiti, citing safety concerns.
According to cruise reporting website royalcaribbeanblog.com, guests who booked cruises in the summer and early fall have received notices from Royal Caribbean that their cruises to Labadee, a private resort on Haiti’s north coast, have been cancelled. That’s what it means. line.
Royal Caribbean began canceling trips to Haiti in March due to violence in the country, and then began canceling more cruises in September, royalcaribbeanblog.com reported. Royal Caribbean had previously canceled visits to Labadee until the end of May of this year.

Royalcaribbeanblog.com reports that the private resort stop has since been changed to another port or day at sea. The cancellations affect ships including Adventure of the Seas, Independence of the Seas, Liberty of the Seas, Freedom of the Seas and Symphony of the Seas.
According to cruiseindustrynews.com, Royal Caribbean announced in March that it would stop all calls to Labadee. The move comes after the U.S. State Department issued a travel warning urging citizens not to visit the country.
“The current security situation in Haiti is unpredictable and dangerous,” the U.S. State Department said in a March press release. “We recognize that there are little to no commercial options for safely exiting Haiti at this time. We urge U.S. citizens to take advantage of these as they become available. I highly recommend it.”
