Loma Linda University Health and LifePoint Rehabilitation, a division of LifePoint Health, announced today that they have entered into a joint venture partnership to build and operate a new inpatient rehabilitation facility in Loma Linda.
For 30 years, Loma Linda University Medical Center East Campus has provided comprehensive rehabilitation services to patients with a variety of conditions and injuries, with a continued focus on patient-centered care, advanced treatments, and innovative research. This new freestanding, 80-bed facility will meet the community’s growing need for specialized rehabilitation services and nearly double the health system’s inpatient rehabilitation care capacity. Once this project is complete, Loma Linda University Health will transition the existing inpatient rehabilitation department to the new rehabilitation facility.

The new rehabilitation facility will provide intensive nursing, physical therapy, occupational pathology, and speech pathology services to adults recovering from conditions such as stroke, neurological conditions, brain and spinal cord injuries, and other debilitating illnesses and injuries. Upon completion, LifePoint Rehabilitation will manage day-to-day operations and implement an evidence-based, personalized inpatient care model at the new facility.

Pending regulatory approval, construction of the new inpatient rehabilitation facility is expected to begin in 2025. The facility he plans to open in 2027.
Once completed, this facility will join LifePoint Rehabilitation’s growing network of more than 40 inpatient rehabilitation facilities nationwide.
