The World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Development Innovation Alliance (IDIA) have agreed to renew a strategic cooperation agreement to support the scale-up of medical innovation until the end of 2025, to jointly accelerate health impact.

Cooperation between IDIA members and WHO includes five areas:
- Demand for innovation: Work together to support WHO Member States to strengthen the identification and articulation of demand for innovations that address population health needs and priorities and global goals.

- Scaling up innovation: Collaborate, as appropriate, with non-state actors and members of the international development community to identify specific opportunities to support the scaling up of demand-driven health innovations for the benefit of WHO Member States.and
- Innovation and scaling skills development:As appropriate, we will work together to support the continued development of innovation and the expansion of knowledge and skills among WHO staff (headquarters, regional and local), Member States and development partners.
