India recently celebrated 75 years of independence. India has changed a lot during this time. India is currently the world’s largest country by population, the world’s fifth largest economy, and one of the world’s fastest growing economies. However, fundamental challenges remain in India’s development path.
Join us for a fascinating event at the 21st Century India Center. World-class economists will gather to delve into the insights of current research and discuss how future academic research can build on this knowledge and advance the most pressing economic challenges India will face in the coming years. We will discuss whether it is possible. The next quarter century.
Keynote speech by Michael Kremer. He is the Kenneth C. Griffin Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago and co-recipient of the 2019 Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economics in memory of Alfred Nobel.
Special lecture by Kartik Muralidharan of the University of California, San Diego. Author of groundbreaking new book ‘Accelerating India’s Development’.
