Fuzz was 15 years old and was last seen at Muskegon Waterfront Sports Park. His family said he was with him on every one of his adventures.
GRAND HAVEN, MI — Inside a hanger at Skydive Grand Haven, owners Tony and Haley Gwynne display a poster made with photos of their dog Fuzz’s adventures.
The poster has the words “Where’s the Fuzz?” In it, he mentions his high energy and love of running to meet new people.
Unfortunately, these words have now taken on new meaning.
Tony and Gwyn have been actively searching for Fuzz since he went missing on Monday and are asking for the community’s help.
Tony and Haley said Fuzz was last seen Monday while family and friends were boating at the North Muskegon Waterfront Sports Park.
Fuzz was inside the boat when it washed ashore. But when she got her boat back in the water, Fuzz was no longer there.
Tony said the family jumped into the water near the last location they could track Fuzz using the GPS on his collar, but couldn’t find anything.
“I can’t see him anywhere,” Tony said. “There was good visibility there, no rocks, it was all sand. If he was in the water, I’m sure he would have gotten out.”
They believe his GPS stopped working after going into the water.
Fuzz is known by many customers because it serves as a service animal for people who jump.
“We always call him boss,” Haley said. “It’s always fun for first-time skydivers to have a little fluffy teddy bear running around, and he helped a lot of people around here because he was an emotional support animal. ”
Tony and Haley say Fuzz loves people and has been with their family since he was a baby.
“He’s flown with me, motorcycles, jet skis, yachts, everything I do, he’s the same way,” Tony said.
The family has been searching every day since Monday, using thermal imaging from a local drone pilot, but they have yet to find Fuzz.
“At this point, we’re kind of relying on the community to keep an eye on him because we’re pretty confident he’s on land,” Haley said. “We have been using social media platforms from the business and thankfully people have been very supportive and kind.”
Fuzz is a Shih Tzu/Yorkie mix and weighs about 10 pounds, according to his family. They asked anyone who found him to contact them, and the reward included a free skydive.
