President Biden’s job approval rating has fallen again, dropping to 37 percent in the latest CNN poll. This marks a further decline in support for President Biden as he campaigns for a second term in 2024.
According to a CNN poll, Biden’s approval rating was in the 50% range at the start of his term, but it was still at 45% at the beginning of this year. His latest numbers are down 2 points from 39% at the beginning of the month.
Nearly two-thirds (63%) now say they disapprove of Biden.
As concerns about the economy and other issues continue to grow, the president and his allies have largely ignored polls that point to warning signs about his re-election bid.
A new poll shows just one-third of voters approve of Mr. Biden’s handling of the economy, down 3 points from October, with 67% disapproving.
This number is far below the 40s and 50s numbers he saw in his first year, but still not as low as the 30% approval rating he posted last summer.
About 7 in 10 respondents said they rate the current economic situation as poor, but that number has fallen several points since July. About 4 in 10 people said they were worried that the cost of living would “rise too high for them to stay in their community.”
In the latest poll, only 35% of Americans said they approve of Biden’s approach to “helping the middle class.”
While the president and his 2024 campaign team have touted “Bidenomics” and his administration’s campaign performance, some within the party are urging the president to recalibrate in response to signals from some of the numbers.
The CNN poll was conducted from November 1 to 30 among 1,795 people. For Americans, the margin of sampling error was plus or minus 3.3 percentage points.
