As part of its continued efforts to support behavioral health services, the AtlantiCare Foundation recently raised more than $600,000 at its 63rd Annual Century Club Gala.
AtlantiCare Behavioral Health provides a wide range of social services in mental health, addiction recovery, and family care at 17 locations in southeastern New Jersey.
Funds supported the hiring of fellow recovery professionals, covered the start-up costs of a new pain management program, and funded transportation assistance for people in need. We have also supported health initiatives for individuals and their families.
CEO Michael Charlton spoke about the importance of donors and how they intend to operate.
“The support of the AtlantiCare Foundation and our donors has been integral to our accomplishments to date and will be critical to our future success,” he said. “By strengthening access to and excellence in critical health services such as behavioral health, we improve the quality of life for more than 1 million residents in our service area. Our promise is: It’s about making sure everyone has access to great care close to home, no matter their circumstances.”
The event was held last Saturday at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City. The theme was “Year of the Dragon” and over 650 people participated.
The event honored Fernando Della Sotta and the late Richard Mirone, both recipients of the 2024 Edward R. Knight Award.
Board Chairman David Goddard thanked them for their dedication and service.
“Both Dr. Della Sotta and Richard Mirone have made countless contributions to the health and well-being of our community. Their significant contributions reflect Dr. Knight’s dedication to community service throughout his life’s work. We are honored to be able to honor these two men for their accomplishments,” Goddard said.
Founded in 1977, AtlantiCare Foundation provides food security, promotion of healthy behaviors for mothers, infants, and school-age youth, mental health services, and high-quality services to underserved communities. We work to improve health outcomes by investing in areas such as access to health care. .
The foundation has also contributed to the construction of new facilities and the addition of state-of-the-art treatment and wellness programs at AtlantiCare. With the addition of funds raised at this gala, AtlantiCare Foundation will be able to reach more than half of her annual goal of $5 million in community impact.
