Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis is getting ready for the Stanley Cup Parade. “This is a big deal,” Trantalis said. VIP tents have been set up, a portable stage has been set up, and barricades have been set up along the parade route on A1A, which stretches from Riomar Boulevard to SE Fifth Street. “It’s really exciting that the Panthers won,” Trantalis said. “It’s exciting for the whole area. The economic impact is huge. All the hotel rooms are already booked. The restaurants will be full.” Patrizia’s NYC owner Emerson Insfran said the restaurant has been busy lately with fans coming to watch and cheer on the Florida Panthers. “During the playoffs,” Insfran said. “A lot of people are at the bar watching the game and enjoying the atmosphere.” He expects there to be more people this weekend. “It’s definitely something to look forward to, especially with the parade being on A1A,” Insfran said. “It’s definitely going to bring in some real revenue for us and for the local restaurants in the area.” The mayor also urges people to consider taking a water taxi or ride share to the parade. Wayne Parrish is a waiter at Bo’s Beach restaurant on Seabreeze Boulevard. Parrish said his restaurant is also doing well and is preparing for an increased turnout during the parade. “We’re going to have a lot more tables,” Parrish said. “We’re moving all the chairs out from the bar, so it’s going to be busy.” He’s excited to hear his restaurant will be near the parade route. “It feels like game day. I’m a little nervous, but like I said, I’m super excited. I’m super excited. I just can’t wait to see what it’s going to be like,” Parrish said.
