The batches tested “exceeded acceptable limits” for yeast and mold.
COLORADO, USA — Health and safety advisories were issued Friday about specific batches of marijuana sold at six Colorado dispensaries.
The advisory, issued by the Colorado Department of Taxation and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, said the tested lots had levels of yeast and mold that exceeded acceptable limits. Marijuana that exceeds prescribed limits is considered a “threat to public health and safety,” the advisory said.
The manufacturer, Wild Horse Enterprises, sold the “potentially contaminated” product between March 21, 2024, and June 9, 2024. The company worked with the Marijuana Enforcement Bureau to voluntarily recall the affected products, the advisory states.
The recalled products were sold at six stores in Colorado.
- Denver: The Joint, 4745 West 38th Ave., 80212
- Pueblo: Maggie’s Farm, 4803 North Interstate 25, 81008
- Garden City: High Plainz Strainz, 2506 6th Ave., 80631
- Garden City: Nature’s Herb & Wellness Center, 540 27th St., 80631
- Manitou Springs: Maggie’s Farm, 141 Manitou Ave., 80829
- Walsenburg: Bad Hut, 973 US Highway 85-87, Suite 300, 81089
Marijuana consumers can look for retail marijuana cultivation licenses and harvest batch numbers on containers of flower they purchase. The advisory asks that you discard or return any products with the following cultivation licenses or batch numbers:
- Retail Marijuana Cultivation License: 403R-01069
- Harvest batch numbers: GP012524F1 and WS012524F1
The advisory states that anyone who experiences adverse health effects after consuming the marijuana in question should seek immediate medical attention and report it to the Marijuana Control Division.
