Celtics’ 2024 Summer League schedule will include game against Bronny James originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston.
The historic rivalry between the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers will continue into next month’s 2024 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
The Lakers made headlines on Thursday when they selected Bronny James, the son of superstar forward LeBron James, with the 55th overall pick in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft and are one of the first four opponents on the Celtics’ summer league schedule.
The Celtics and Lakers summer league game is scheduled for Monday, July 15th.
Summer league is often the first opportunity for fans to see a team’s new draft picks in action. The Celtics, who have yet to release their official summer league roster, selected Baylor Scheiermann (first round, 30th pick) and Anton Watson (second round, 54th pick) in the 2024 NBA Draft.
All summer league games will be held at the Thomas & Mack Center and Pavilion on the University of Nevada campus.
According to the league, here’s how the Summer League playoffs will work:
“After each team’s first four games, the top four teams will advance to the playoffs. The playoffs will begin with a semifinal doubleheader on Sunday, July 21st at 2pm ET and 4pm ET on ESPN. The two winners of the semifinals will meet in the final on Monday, July 22nd at 9pm ET on ESPN. The four teams that advance to the playoffs will be determined by each team’s winning percentage in their first four games. See here for tiebreaker criteria.”
